Arlindo Chinaglia (born December 24, 1949 in Serra Azul , São Paulo ) is a Brazilian politician and doctor.

Life

Chinaglia studied medicine at the Universidade de Brasília . He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo from 1991 to 1994. He was then elected to the Chamber of Deputies (Câmara dos Deputados) of the National Congress for his state , now in the fifth consecutive term. Chinaglia belongs to the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT). From February 1, 2007 to February 2, 2009, Chinaglia was President of the Chamber of Deputies, succeeding Aldo Rebelo . He was succeeded as President of Parliament by Michel Temer .
