Armand d'Artois
Jules-François-Armand Dartois de Bournonville (born January 31, 1845 in Paris , † December 13, 1912 there ) was a French writer.
D'Artois studied law and then found a job at the Ministry of Public Education. In 1884 he was appointed librarian at the Bibliothèque Mazarine . He held this office until the end of his life.
Befriended François Coppée , he paved the way for him to meet other writers; u. a. Through Coppée he also got to know the publisher Alphonse Lemerre , who included some of his poems in the later famous anthology Le Parnasse contemporain .
Together with colleagues like Alexandre Dumas the Younger and Marie Emmanuel Théaulon de Lambert , d'Artois wrote several successful plays.
The writer died seven weeks before his 67th birthday. D'Artois found his final resting place in the Père Lachaise cemetery .
