Armas Hirvonen
Armas Hirvonen (born May 13 . Jul / 25. May 1896 greg. In Duderhof , Russian Empire ; † the thirtieth September 1972 in Helsinki , Finland ) was a Finnish cameraman and filmmaker with Estonian roots.
Life
Armas Hirvonen was in Ingermanland Duderhof / Дудергоф (Finnish Tuuteri, German and Swedish Duderhof or Dudern; since 1950 Moschaiski / Можайский ) at Krasnoye Selo born. He first worked as a filmmaker in Pärnu, Estonia . In 1931 he directed the Estonian silent film Öösel . During the Second World War he finally moved to Finland. There he was involved in numerous Finnish film productions as a cameraman in the 1940s and 1950s.
In addition, Armas Hirvonen made numerous documentaries.
