Armen Dschigarchanjan ( Armenian Արմեն Ջիգարխանյան , Russian Армен Борисович Джигарханян, English Armen Dzhigarkhanyan , French Armen Djigarkhanian ; born October 3, 1935 in Yerevan ) is an actor from Armenia .
To 1958 he trained as a stage actor at the Stanislavsky Theater in Yerevan and played there from 1955. His film debut he had in 1960 in a production of arms Film Studios, where he also one of his first outstanding film roles, Master Mukutsch in 1968 The triangle played . One of his notable roles is that of party functionary Styschni in Kleiner Kranich (1969). In 1967 he went to the Lenkom Theater in Moscow , in 1969 to the Mayakovsky Theater . Even in the Soviet Union he was a busy actor (over 250 films so far); he received national state awards.
Armen Dschigarchanjan had a worldwide success in 1981 as a former Nazi killer Max Richard in Tehran 43 (English title: Killers are always on the move ). In his role as the fictional assassin of Winston Churchill , Franklin D. Roosevelt and Josef Stalin , he hides 37 years later with the young Parisian Françoise ( Claude Jade ). An inspector ( Alain Delon ) tries to catch him, but both Max and the inspector are killed by terrorists. Armen Jigarchanjan played the role convincingly on two time levels ( 1943 and 1980 ). Tehran 43 opened the way to Western European cinema for Dschigarchanjan: one of his last international cinema roles was the mafia-like father in Ligne de vie (1996).
