Armeniacon
Armeniakon ( Middle Greek Ἀρμενιακόν ), or subject of the Armeniaks ( θέμα Άρμενιάκων ), was a Byzantine military province ( subject ). It was located in northeastern Turkey , the capital was Amasya . According to Ibn Al Fakih , 9,000 soldiers were stationed here. The topic probably originated when the troops of the magister militum per Armeniam withdrew to Asia Minor around 650 , which would also explain the name.
