Armin Suppan

Armin Suppan (born October 16, 1959 in Graz ) is an Austrian wind musician and composer .

The son of the musicologist Wolfgang Suppan studied music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and at the Detmold University of Music ; In 1984 he obtained his diploma in French horn under Michael Hoeltzel ; 1987 Graduation as Mag. Art. In Graz. He completed additional conducting and chamber music studies with Walter Hügler in Biel and with Milan Turković in Vienna. Initially working as a conductor of wind orchestras in the southern Baden region ( Kappelrodeck , Ortenberg ), he began training as a military conductor in Austria in 1994; 1999 military bandmaster examination. In the same year he joined the teaching staff of the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory of the Province of Styria in Graz, where he heads the wind department and the wind music information center. Armin Suppan has gained international recognition as a brass music specialist and instrumentator for the symphonic wind orchestra.
