Armintie Ada Herrington (born Armintie Ada Price on April 3, 1985 in Myrtle , Mississippi ) is a professional American basketball player. She last played in the 2015 season for the Washington Mystics in the Women's National Basketball Association .

Career

college

As Armintie Price, she played for the Ole Miss Lady Rebels, the women's basketball team at the University of Mississippi, until 2007 . She played very strong seasons for the Lady Rebels and also received several awards while in college. In 2007 she was voted SEC Defensive Player of the Year and the All-SEC First Team. The great sporting success with the Lady Rebels did not materialize.

Women's National Basketball Association

Her maiden name Price was selected in third place in the 2007 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky , who joined the league prior to the 2006 season . In the 2007 season she was in all 34 games of the season in the starting lineup of Sky and achieved an average of 7.9 points and 2.9 assists per game. Her rebound cut was impressive with 6.0 rebounds per game, because with a height of 175 cm she was one of the smaller players in the WNBA. At the end of her first season in the WNBA, she was named WNBA Rookie of the Year . In the other two seasons in Chicago, playing times and the stakes in the starting lineup decreased. During the 2009 season she moved to the Atlanta Dream team as part of a trade, where she was only used as a supplementary player at the beginning. From the 2011 season , however, her playing minutes increased and she came back to regular appearances in the team's starting line-up. From the 2013 season she then played under her new surname Herrington. During their time in Atlanta, the team reached the WNBA finals three times, but they were each lost 3-0. She enters the 2014 season for the Los Angeles Sparks . There she played all of the season's games and was in the starting line-up for half of them. She enters the 2015 season for the Washington Mystics . Here the role of Herrington is reduced to that of a supplementary player.

After the 2015 season , she was not active for any WNBA team. Up to this point, she played in 9 WNBA seasons in the regular season 290 games, she was 145 times in the starting lineup, and scored 2647 points, 779 rebounds and 1090 assists. In 25 playoff games, she scored 270 points, 60 rebounds and 98 assists.
