Beatrice Simon-Jungi (born December 21, 1960 in Bern ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP until 2008 , then BDP ).

Political career

Beatrice Simon was a member of Seedorf's municipal council from 1995 to 2010 . From 2003 until she took office as a member of the government of the Canton of Bern (Finance Directorate) on June 1, 2010, she was mayor . In addition, from 2006 she was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern . Two years later she was elected vice president of the SVP. In spring 2008 she moved from SVP to BDP and became the first female president of the BDP of the Canton of Bern. On March 28, 2010 she was elected to the government council. Since June 1, 2010, she has been Head of Finance for the Canton of Bern. Since 2013 she has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Finance Directors' Conference. In the elections on October 20, 2019 , she was not elected to the Council of States, but to the National Council. She did not run for the second ballot for the Council of States and also renounced the National Council seat. For them, Heinz Siegenthaler has moved up to the National Council.

After completing a commercial apprenticeship, she worked in various industries, completed various training courses and worked as a marketing manager in an SME company . In 2009 she completed an apprenticeship in human resources.

Beatrice Simon lives in Seedorf, has been married since 1982 and is the mother of two grown daughters.
