Evi Allemann
Evi Allemann (born July 16, 1978 in Bern ; resident in Welschenrohr ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). Has been a member of the Bern cantonal government since 2018 .
Life
Evi Allemann was elected to the Bernese Grand Council in April 1998 and was thus the youngest member of parliament ever to be represented in a Swiss cantonal parliament. In addition to her work in the Justice Commission, Allemann mainly campaigned for youth and education-specific issues in the Grand Council.
After a highly regarded and unusual election campaign, Allemann made it into the National Council in the October 2003 election with 56,118 votes. As a 25-year-old, she became the youngest member of the Swiss National Council. After her election, Allemann first took a seat in the Legal Commission (RK), later in the Commission for Transport and Telecommunications (KVF), the Foreign Policy Commission (APK) and the Security Policy Commission (SIK) of the National Council. Despite a poor result for her party, Allemann was re-elected in the 2007 National Council elections with a total of 85,259 votes. She was re-elected in the elections on October 23, 2011 and October 18, 2015 . After her election to the Bern Government Council, she resigned from the National Council on May 28, 2018.
Allemann's political focus is primarily on traffic and environmental issues as well as security issues.
Allemann was most recently president of the VCS Verkehrs-Club der Schweiz from 2013 until her election to the government council in March 2018 and was president of the tenants' association of the canton of Bern for many years. From 2004 to 2011 she was president of the environmental organization Läbigi Stadt .
On March 25, 2018, she was elected to the Bern Government Council, where she has been Director of the Directorate for Internal Affairs and Justice (DIJ) since June 1, 2018.
Allemann lives in Bern, is a trained lawyer and mother of two children.
