Erich von Siebenthal

Erich von Siebenthal (born December 30, 1958 in Gstaad , resident in Saanen ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

Life

Erich von Siebenthal was born in Saanenland , where he grew up on his parents' mountain farm. After finishing school, he lived in French-speaking Switzerland for a year . Afterwards he helped his parents out on the farm and worked on the side at various craft businesses. In 1978 he joined the SVP, but was not yet publicly involved. In 1985 he and his wife took over their parents' farm. From 1994 he made himself available for public political posts. In 2002 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern . In the 2007 elections he made it to the National Council , in the elections on October 23, 2011 and in October 2015 he was re-elected.

Today Erich von Siebenthal is an organic farmer and lives with his family in Gstaad . He and his wife have a daughter and two sons. He belongs to the Methodist Church .
