Christine Badertscher (born January 11, 1982 in Sumiswald ; resident in Lauperswil ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ).

Life

Christine Badertscher grew up on a farm in the Emmental . She completed a commercial apprenticeship and then lived in Cameroon for a long time . Back in Switzerland, she studied environmental engineering in Wädenswil and then worked as a personal assistant to the then National Councilor Alec von Graffenried at the Swiss Green Party. Badertscher studied agricultural sciences at the University of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences in Zollikofen and worked alongside his studies on his parents' organic farm in Madiswil . After completing her studies, she worked for four years at the Swiss Farmers' Association in the field of agricultural and trade policy and then at Swissaid . Christine Badertscher lives in Madiswil.

Christine Badertscher was a member of the municipal council (executive) of Madiswil and president of the commission for public safety from 2011 to 2018.

In the national parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 , Badertscher was elected to the National Council for the Greens .

Badertscher was President of the Greens Oberaargau from 2013 to 2018 and has been Vice President of the Green Canton of Bern since 2019 . She has been President of the Oberaargau Farmers 'Association, board member of the Bern Farmers' Association and board member of the Oberaargau Identity Association since 2017 . Since 2018 she has been Vice President of the Association for the Promotion of Young People in Community Policy FJG and a member of the steering committee International Certification Bio AG . Since 2019 she has been a member of the board of trustees of the WBM Madiswil foundation and a member of the agricultural policy commission of the Swiss farmers' association (SBLV) .
