Marianne Streiff-Feller (also Marianne Streiff , born August 17, 1957 in Bern ; resident in Betschwanden and Strättligen ) is a Swiss politician ( EPP ).

Life

Streiff is the daughter of a police officer and attended the teachers' college. For 33 years she worked in the Bernese school service, most recently as a teacher in the vocational school year for integration at the BFF Bern. In 2008 she obtained a degree in "Public Affairs Management" from the Zurich School of Economics .

From 1991 to 1998 she was a member of the municipal parliament of Köniz . From 1998 to 2010 she was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern , where she presided over the EPP parliamentary group from 2003 to 2010. From 2004 to 2010 , she was a member of the Köniz municipal council and chaired the security department . She has been a member of the National Council since 2010 . She was re-elected in the elections on October 23, 2011 . She has been President of EPP Switzerland since April 5, 2014 , after having been Vice-President since 2010.

She has been President of INSOS Switzerland (industry association for people with disabilities) since 2009.

She officially supports the group responsibility initiative in the civil committee.

Marianne Streiff is married and has three grown children. She is a committed member of the reformed regional church .
