Jürg Grossen (born August 24, 1969 in Frutigen ; legal resident in Kandergrund ) is a Swiss entrepreneur, politician and president of the Green Liberals .

Life

Grossen was elected to the National Council in 2011 and received his first major political mandate. In the large chamber he is a member of the Commission for Transport and Telecommunications (KVF) . Since March 2015 he has been Vice President of the Green Liberal Group .

From 2009 to 2012 he was President of GLP Thun / Berner Oberland, which he co-founded. He was also a member of the Civil Engineering, Transport and Water Commission (TVW) in Frutigen from January 2010 to 2013 and from January 2001 to December 2009 the school council of the Interlaken vocational center. From 2012 to 2016 he was Co-President of the Green Liberal Canton of Bern. Since 2016 he has been president of the "Volkswirtschaft Berner Oberland" association.

At the delegates' meeting on August 26, 2017, Grossen was elected President of Green Liberals Switzerland. He succeeded founding president Martin Bäumle . In addition to transport and media policy, his focus is on energy and climate policy. For example, when designing the Energy Strategy 2050, he campaigned for multi-party buildings and quarters with photovoltaic systems to be able to combine for self-consumption.

Grossen is an electrical planner by profession and has been an entrepreneur since 1994. He is on the board of several associations. He has chaired Swiss e-Mobility, an association for electromobility, since 2017, and has been on the board of the Swisscleantech business association since 2014.

He is married with three children and lives in Frutigen.
