Neuwustrow is a part of the municipality in the district of Wustrow of the official municipality Oderaue in the district of Märkisch-Oderland . Until the merger with Altwustrow to form the municipality of Wustrow in 1957, Neuwustrow was an independent municipality. Wustrow has been part of the Oderaue community in the Barnim-Oderbruch district since 1997 .

Geographical location

The village is six kilometers northeast of Wriezen . Neuwustrow is a street village .

In 2005 there were about 166 inhabitants here and in Altwustrow.

history

The village was founded in 1755 and was inhabited by settlers. The settlers were five major colonists and 14 minor colonists. They settled on a shaft that was later filled in and is now Ratsstrasse. Six semi-detached houses were built south of the colonist houses, one of which was used by the schoolmaster . The last semi-detached house burned down in 1994.

In 1957 Altwustrow and Neuwustrow united to form the municipality of Wustrow. This community came to Neulewin in 1975 . Neuwustrow has been part of the Oderaue community since 2003.

Listed buildings

Two buildings for the village are registered in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg. These are the morgue in the cemetery on Ratsstrasse and the courtyard complex on Ratsstrasse 4.

The morgue in the cemetery was built in 1897, it was originally the hereditary burial of the Breitkreutz family. The hall has a square floor plan and a hipped roof . The entrance is framed with a round arch, the iron door comes from the construction period.

The courtyard at Ratsstrasse 4 belonged to a small colonist. A house and a barn belong to the courtyard. The house is the oldest building in town. It is single-storey, eaves and has a gable roof . There is an arbor in front of the entrance. Inside was a black kitchen , the attic was used as a warehouse.
