Urs Gasche (born March 15, 1955 in Bern ; resident in Derendingen and Oekingen ) is a Swiss politician ( BDP , until 2008 SVP ).

Life

Urs Gasche attended the schools in Uettligen and Bern and completed a law degree at the University of Bern . He became the advocate patent and was 1982 to 1988 county lawyer and department head of the planning office of the canton of Bern . He then worked as an employee and from 1992 as a partner at a law firm in Bern.

In 1990 he was elected to the local council of Fraubrunnen , which he chaired from 1994 to 2001.

On June 10, 2001, he was elected to the Bern government council, where he took over the financial management. In April 2006 he was elected regional president. In 2008 he was one of the founding members of the BDP of the Canton of Bern . In August 2009, Gasche announced that he was leaving office at the end of his term of office and that he would no longer stand for election on March 28, 2010. Urs Gasche has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of BKW since June 1, 2010 , of which he has been a member of the Government Council since 2002. From June 2010 to March 2011 he was President of the BDP of the Canton of Bern.

In the parliamentary elections on October 18, 2015 , he was re-elected to the National Council. He resigned after the 2017 summer session; Heinz Siegenthaler took over for him .

Gasche has chaired the Jegenstorf Castle Foundation since 2014 .

Gasche is married and has four children.
