YK Arms ( Japanese 有限会社 ア ー ム ス , Yūgen-gaisha Āmusu , English Arms Corporation ) is a Japanese animation studio.
history
Arms was on 18 November 1996 as a subsidiary of Studio Pierrot Plus founded with the purpose of Hentai - Anime produce. These were published by the publishers Pink Pineapple and Green Bunny and were mostly eroge adaptations. The character designer of many of these works was Rin-Sin . The studio gained fame with the in-house productions Kite and Mezzo Forte by director Yasuomi Umetsu . In 2004 the first own television series Mezzo and Elfen Lied followed , which also meant a relocation of the business field. The last pornographic anime was released in December 2005 with the ambitious but unsuccessful Hininden Gausu as a self-production with Rin-Sin and Pink Pineapple. Nevertheless, many series animated since then have had a high fan service content such as Hyakka Ryōran Samurai Girls , Ikki Tousen - Dragon Destiny / Great Guardians or Queen's Blade .
At the beginning of August 2020 it was announced that the studio had filed for bankruptcy .
