Arnaud Friedrich (born April 21, 2000 ) is a German motorcycle racer .

Career

In 2019 Friedrich will take part in the FIM Endurance World Championship and the FIM Europe Superstock 1000 Cup (the successor to the Superstock 1000 EM) as part of the Alpe Adria. Friedrich drives there for the Polish racing team LRP Poland.

In 2018, in addition to the two series mentioned above, he also took part in the Polish Championship. There the racing driver from Limbach-Oberfrohna took second place overall in the Alpe Adria International Motorcycle Championship (AAIMC) and in the Polish Superbike Championship.

The surprising start ban for Arnaud Friedrich at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as part of the FIM Endurance World Championship caused a stir in 2018 . The youngster celebrated his 18th birthday exactly on the day of the race and was therefore still too young according to the regulations on the previous mandatory training days. His training times were therefore not counted, which meant that he was not allowed to start the 24-hour race.

In the 2017 season, Friedrich drove alongside Markus Reiterberger , Danny de Boer and Jan Bühn in the Van Zon-Remeha-BMW team and became rookie of the year .

In 2016, the then only 16-year-old entered the IDM Superbike in the Superstock class with a special permit and the support of the Penz13.com team. This made him the youngest starter in the IDM Superbike so far . In the previous two years, Friedrich was still racing in the Yamaha R6 Dunlop Cup , having emerged as champion in the ADAC Junior Cup in 2013 .
