Arndt Reuning

Arndt Reuning (* 1972 in Lich ) is a German chemist and freelance radio and science journalist.

Life

He studied chemistry in Gießen and Marburg and completed his doctorate in 2002. He gained his first experience as a journalist during his studies as a freelancer in the “Nature and Science” editorial team of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ). In autumn 2002 he began a science journalistic traineeship at the DLF in Berlin and Cologne, followed by a year as a program trainee at Deutschlandfunk Cologne and changed the department and position to the “ Current Research ” editorial team . He has been a freelance science journalist for radio broadcasting since 2006. During this time he spent two years as a science reporter in the USA.

He has been a volunteer member of the board of the science press conference since 2010 .

He is the author of three editions of the daily program “ Background ” and 26 editions of “ Wissenschaft im Brennpunkt ” as well as almost daily for the program “Research News” on Deutschlandfunk.

  • 2012: Journalism Prize of the GSK Foundation for "The Return of Magic Mushrooms - Hallucinogens in Psychotherapy"
  • 2013 ARGUS media award for radio / TV for "Fighting the germs - On the way to the post-antibiotic age" and "Resistance in the stable and in the environment"
  • 2018: ACHEMA media award
