The building at Arndtstrasse 39 is a listed residential building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located in a corner on the east side of Arndtstrasse in Magdeburg's Stadtfeld Ost district . The so-called Lessingplatz extends north of the house and is formed by Wilhelm-Külz-Strasse, which runs from west to east, and Lessingstrasse, which crosses from southwest to northeast.

Architecture and history

The three-and-a-half-story plastered building was erected by Gustav Hesse in 1896. The house is designed in the neo-baroque style and has a mezzanine floor . In front of the easternmost axis of the north-facing facade there is a polygonal bay window in front of the two upper floors . Consoles and cartridges on the window openings are used as decorations on the facade. There are also consoles on the cornice . The building rests on a raised base. The house is covered by a flat roof .

Originally a south wing also belonged to the building, which ran along Arndtstrasse, but has not been preserved.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed under registration number 094 82394 as a monument .

As the southern boundary of the square, the building defines the street scene and is significant in terms of urban development.
