Arnim Brux

Arnim Brux (born June 25, 1952 in Jänkendorf in Upper Lusatia ) is a German SPD politician and former district administrator of the Ennepe-Ruhr district .

Arnim Brux was born on June 25, 1952 as the child of a teacher and an educator in Jänkendorf in what is now the district of Görlitz. Since 1956 he spent his childhood and youth in Ennepetal . He has been married since 1977 and has three daughters and four grandchildren.

After completing his doctorate, he was a research assistant at the Universities of Bochum, Cologne and Wuppertal from 1978 to 1986. From 1986 he was head of the department in the Ministry of Education under Minister Hans Schwier . Later he worked in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Urban Development, Culture and Sport in the area of ​​regional cultural policy.

In the district election in autumn 2002, he was elected with 53.0 percent. In the district election on August 30, 2009, he was re-elected with 46.7 percent.

On September 23, 2014, Brux announced that he would not stand for the 2015 district election.

Brux has been a member of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Assembly since 2009 and has been a board member of the Museum Schloss Moyland Foundation since 2016.
