Arno Schmidt (politician)

Arno Schmidt (born December 20, 1945 in Laubusch ) was a member of the German Bundestag for one electoral term from December 20, 1990 to November 10, 1994 . He was elected via the state list of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in Saxony .

Life

Schmidt went to the Polytechnische Oberschule in Laubusch and then attended a commercial vocational school in Cottbus until 1966 , where he graduated as a dental technician . In 1964 he became a union member. In 1968 he began doing his basic military service, which lasted until 1970. Until 1972, Schmidt made his master's diploma at the dental technician school in Halle. He then attended the technical school for health and social services in Potsdam, where he graduated as a medical pedagogue in 1976. He worked as a teacher in technical schools and also worked as a training manager for dental technology. In 1989 he completed his studies as a qualified pedagogue at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

In 1990 Schmidt joined the FDP in Saxony. He was a co-founder of the Saxon regional association. From March to August 1990 Schmidt was state chairman of the FDP, later he was instead admitted to the federal executive committee of the FDP. In the federal election in 1990 he was able to enter the German Bundestag via the state list of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in Saxony . There he was a full member of the Committee for Economic Cooperation. Until March 1993 he worked on the EC committee. He was also an alternate member of the Family and Seniors Committee and the Defense Committee.
