Arnold Andean Mats

Arnold Andenmatten (* 23 August 1922 - 24 March 2018 ) from Saas-Fee was a Swiss skier and ski instructor.

Andenmatten won the first and highest classic glacier ski run from Allalinhorn to Saas-Fee in 1946 with a total descent time of 8:07 minutes. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 he was a soldier in the rank of gunners member of the Swiss military patrol team , which won the gold medal in this discipline . A year later, Andenmatten won the military ski patrol run of the Olympic revenge in Oslo, as a team with Robert Zurbriggen , Karl Hischier and Karl Bricker . Andenmatten was still an active skier in old age and took part in the Saas-Balen valley race on February 17, 2008 .
