Arnold I. von Scheyern

Arnold I. von Scheyern (also Arnulf ) (later von Dachau) († before March 26, 1123 ) was Count von Scheyern and by marriage, Count von Dachau .

Life

Arnold I von Scheyern was the youngest son of Otto I von Scheyern and Haziga von Dissen and brother of Bernhard I von Scheyern , Otto II von Scheyern and Ekkehard I von Scheyern .

It is said to have been named after his mother's brother and founded the subsidiary branch of the Counts of Scheyern-Dachau (-Valley).

Around 1078 he became Count of Scheyern. From 1104 he owned the County of Dachau and from then on called himself Graf von Dachau. In 1123 his widow gave his consent to the relocation of the Eisenhofen monastery , which the brother of Arnold I, Otto II von Scheyern had donated. At the foundation of the Scheyern family castle as a monastery, which received a certificate of confirmation from 1123, the widow was present as a shareholder with her two sons Konrad I and Otto I.

Arnold I. von Scheyern married Beatrix von Reipersberg (approx. 1060–1124), a daughter of Count Kuno von Reipersberg and heiress of the County of Dachau. The marriage resulted in several children, including:
