Eisenhofen
Coordinates: 48 ° 21 ' N , 11 ° 18' E
Eisenhofen is a part of the municipality Erdweg in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau . The current population is 740 (as of August 1, 2012).
geography
Eisenhofen is about twelve kilometers northwest of Dachau , about 15 kilometers southeast of Aichach and about six kilometers north of the A8 motorway (junction at Odelzhausen and Sulzemoos ). The church village north of the state roads 2047 and 2054 is located on the Zeitlbach in the Glonntal. The Zeitlbach flows into the Glonn south-east of Eisenhofen . Erdweg, Petersberg, Kleinberghofen, Hof and Hörgenbach are neighboring towns. The meditative hiking trail InSichGehen, inaugurated in 2012, runs through Eisenhofen with eleven stops between the old Petersberg monastery locationsand Altomünster ( Sankt Alto and Sankt Birgitta ).
history
- 802: Usinhusun (iron live ) was on May 21, 802 as a fief -gift from the Freisinger cathedral from the clan of the Prieserbrüder Wenilo and Helker Huosi mentioned. According to a document from Bishop Atto , the priests Wenilo and Helmker donated several properties to Freising Cathedral, including those in Eisenhofen.
- 837: Usinhofun (iron furnace ) is mentioned in a document.
- 1100: Udalschalk von Eisenhofen belonged to the knightly entourage of the Freising Bishop .
- 1340: The Eisenhofer sell the Markt Bruck ( Fürstenfeldbruck ) to the Cistercians of Fürstenfeldbruck .
- 1382: Three scissors for wealth appear in the Eisenhofer coat of arms.
- 1418: An heir brings the Eisenhofer's headquarters into the possession of the Thorer.
- 1432: The Eisenhofen tournament arbors can be proven for the last time at major tournaments . Before that, the followers of the Wittelsbachers rose to the high tournament nobility as the most important family in the Dachau region.

- 1527: With the Teutonic Knight Wolfgang von Eisenhofen, the male tribe of the Eisenhofer dies out.
- 1585: The Eisenhofer family named themselves after the Eisenhofen Castle in Hof ( Wiguleus Hund ). The family grave of the Eusenhouer is in the collegiate church in Indersdorf . There is a tombstone in the cloister of the Indersdorf monastery .
- 1622: After several changes of ownership, the Hofmark was bought by the Freising Prince-Bishop Veit Adam von Gepeckh for the Hochstift Freising , together with the Hofmarks Kleinberghofen , Asbach, Lampertshausen and Erdweg . Eisenhofen was the maintenance office in Freising .
- 1618 to 1648: Eisenhofen Castle was destroyed by the Swedes in the Thirty Years' War . The Freising Bishop Johannes Franziskus then rebuilt the castle.
- 1802/1803: The prince-bishops expanded the castle into a summer residence ; Secularization .
- 1805 to the beginning of the 20th century: Hop cultivation with several hop gardens in Eisenhofen and on Petersberg can be proven.
- 1972: Eisenhofen was incorporated into the new municipality of Erdweg on July 1, 1972 on the occasion of the regional reform in Bavaria .
Eisenhofer coat of arms
Udalschalk von Eisenhofen, a knightly follower of the Freising bishop, is mentioned around 1100. In 1382 three scissors appear in the Eisenhofer coat of arms (originally one) and indicate a significant increase in ownership. The sheep shears symbolize the rich property and the affinity of the landowner with his land.
Attractions
- St. Alban is a branch church of the Erdweg parish and was first mentioned in 1101. It was destroyed in the Thirty Years War and was given its current form in 1680.

Clubs and groups
Associations and groups have a significant impact on cultural life in Eisenhofen:
- 1874: The Eisenhofen-Hirtlbach warrior and soldier comradeship is founded. In 2015 the association celebrated its 140th anniversary.
- 1882: The voluntary fire brigade Eisenhofen is founded. In 1885 the first " extinguishing props house " was built in Eisenhofen.
- 1928: The Eisenhofen-Hirtlbach fruit and horticultural association is founded.
- 1952: The Catholic boys and girls clubs in Eisenhofen / Hof are founded with the help of Pastor Friedrich Schnell. The main goal of both non-profit associations is to promote cohesion among the Eisenhof youth, to preserve customs and to shape village life through various events such as Judas bonfires , maypoles , drama, etc. In 2013 the two clubs celebrated their 60th anniversary. The girls 'and boys' clubs in Welshofen took over the sponsorship.
- 1992: The association Böllerschützen Eisenhofen e. V. is founded. In 1995 the association joined the Schützengau Dachau. Since 1994, the host firecrackers protect their camp followers on Christmas Eve in the center of a dirt road Christkindl zeroing or Christmas Shooting for charity.
- 2009: The Eisenhofen Local History Association is founded. He emerged from the village chronicle working group and would like to build up an archive on the history of Eisenhofen, Hof and Petersberg and document the village history in a book.
