history
Until the 19th century
It was first mentioned in a document in 893. In the Middle Ages, Jetzendorf was a Hofmark with frequently changing lords, with whom the neighboring town of Volkersdorf was also connected from 1345 to 1848. The Zillenhart family owned the Hofmark from 1520 to 1572. The epitaph of Seyfried von Zillnhart (died 1572) has been preserved in the parish church. The lords of Schloss Jetzendorf have been from the Keßling-Freyberg family since 1812 . Hirschenhausen also came into the possession of the Freyberg at that time. The buildings of today's castle date back to several construction phases in the 16th to 19th centuries.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1971, the previously independent community of Volkersdorf was incorporated. On April 1, 1971 a part of Triefing was added. Hirschenhausen followed on January 1, 1975. Areas of the dissolved Steinkirchen community were added on April 1, 1975. In 1979 the Kaltenberg part of the municipality came from Gerolsbach to Jetzendorf.
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 2,293 to 3,106 by 813 inhabitants or by 35.5%.
politics
Mayor and City Council
Manfred Betzin (CSU) has been the first mayor since 2014; he was elected for a further six years on March 15, 2020 with 93.52% of the vote. His predecessors since 1990 were Richard Schnell and before that Josef Wallner (all CSU).
Since May 1, 2020, the following have been represented in the municipal council:
- Non-party : 5 seats (33.86%)
- CSU : 5 seats (31.92%)
- Greens : 2 seats (13.67%)
- SPD : 2 seats (10.51%)
- Lampertshausen voters' association: 2 seats (10.04%)
Due to the increase in the population to over 3000, 16 instead of 14 members had to be elected in the 2020 municipal council election. The SPD and the Lampertshausen voters' association each won one seat, the Greens are new to the local council; the list of free citizens no longer ran. The turnout was 70.61%.
