Welshofen

Welshofen is a district and a district of the municipality Erdweg in the district of Dachau ( Bavaria ). The village has about 470 inhabitants.

Welshofen is located about three kilometers southwest of Erdweg on the St 2054 .
history
After 1098 Welshofen was Wittelsbach's landed property. The village was first mentioned in the ducal land register in 1240. In 1704 the place was almost completely burned by the English and Dutch. In addition to the village of the same name, the villages of Altstetten, Bogenried and Oberhandenzhofen belong to the former municipality and today's district of Welshofen.
On July 1, 1972, in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria, the municipality of Welshofen merged with four other municipalities in the newly formed municipality of Erdweg.
