Johannes Geismann (born October 12, 1960 in Mainz ) is a German political official . Since 2018 he has been the Federal Intelligence Officer and State Secretary in the Federal Chancellery .

Career

After high school at Quirinus Gymnasium Neuss and the obligations of military service Geismann began studying law at the University of Bonn in which he with the first state examination completed. From 1986 to 1991, he did a legal clerkship and worked as a research assistant . Geismann has been a member of the CDU since 1977. He is married and has five children.

In 1991 and 1992 Geismann was a consultant in the Federal Environment Ministry and from 1992 to 2000 he was seconded to the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .
