Arnold II (Laurenburg)
Arnold II. Of Laurenburg († 1158 / 59 ) was Count of Laurenburg and one of the ancestors of the House of Nassau .
Life
Arnold was a son of Count Ruprecht I of Laurenburg and Beatrix of Limburg . His ancestry is confirmed by the deed of 1151, according to which Henry II of Leez , Bishop of Liège , confirmed the donations of 'domina Jutta, nobilissima matrona uxor ducis Walrami de Lemburg' to the Rolduc Abbey , and which confirmed the presence at their funeral documented in Rolduc by 'Arnoldus quoque filius Ruberti comitis de Lunneburg natus ex domina Beatrice filia præfatæ dominæ' .
Arnold is mentioned as Count von Laurenburg between 1151 and 1158. He ruled together with his brother Ruprecht II. Arnold and Ruprecht were last mentioned together with their mother in a document dated April 1st, 1158.
progeny
Due to the lack of data, much is unknown about the early Counts of Laurenburg and Nassau, including exact family relationships. No marriage is known about Arnold. He is said to be the father of Count Ruprecht III. from Nassau .
