Arnold Meier (born March 18, 1914 in Zurich ; † August 4, 1993 there ) was a Swiss long-distance runner .

From 1938 to 1941 Arnold Meier was multiple Swiss champion over 5000 meters and in cross country .

He was particularly successful in the Murtenlauf , which he won three times. In 1938 Arnold Meier was the first runner to break the one hour time for the route from Murten to Freiburg.

Arnold Meier started for the Zurich sports club.

  • 1942: 1st place Murtenlauf (16.4 km) in 57: 45.6 min (new record)
  • 1946: 2nd place Swiss Marathon Championship (Zurich) in 2:50:49 h
  • 1948: 2nd place in the Swiss Marathon Championship (Huttwil) in 2:50:33 h
