Arnold Morkramer (born August 10, 1929 in Dudweiler / Saar) is a German sculptor. He lives in Bruchertseifen in the Westerwald .

Life

After finishing elementary school, Morkramer attended the Hohenzollern High School in Düsseldorf . His artistic training began in 1947/48 with Norbert Kricke . He then studied from 1949 to 1953 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy , among others with Ewald Mataré and Leonard Küppers. In 1959 Morkramer moved to the Westerwald and worked among other things as an art teacher at the Westerwald high school in Altenkirchen.

As a freelance artist, he created a large number of sacred works, including the altar and the stations of the cross in the Bornhofen monastery as well as the altar, ambo and Easter candlestick in the parish church of St. Mauritius Kärlich and the altar of St. Pius in Gelsenkirchen-Hassel . In addition, Morkramer devotes himself to time and socially critical issues.
