Arnold Timothée de Lasaulx

Arnold Timothée Albert Francois Joseph de Lasaulx (born January 24, 1774 at Alensberg Castle near Moresnet ; † July 18, 1863 in Moresnet ) was a long-time mayor of Neutral Moresnet and the communities of Preußisch Moresnet and Hergenrath .

Life and work

Arnold Timothée Albert Francois Joseph de Lasaulx was born on January 24, 1774 at Alensberg Castle. His parents were Pierre Olivier Albert Georges Joseph de Lasaulx and Marie Anne Emérantiane Josèphe de Mylius. He was married to Anne Dorothée Antoinette Joséphine de Braumann. They had six children together: Marie Anne Francoise Dorothée, Pierre Ignace Arnold Marie, Catherine Elisabeth Henriette Hubertine, Madeleine Antoinette Ulrique Eugénie, Antoinette Caroline Joséphine Catherine and Gaspar Joseph Eugène Louis.

The Catholic administrative secretary Lasaulx was installed as a mayor in the French administered Moresnet from 1802 to 1816 and then elected mayor of Neutral Moresnet until 1859 and, at the same time, mayor of Preußísch Moresnet until 1850. In addition, from 1823 to 1847 he also held the office of mayor of the Hergenrath community.

Arnold Timothée Albert Francois Joseph de Lasaulx was a knight of the Austro-Imperial Leopold Order and holder of the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle, third class.
