Historical view of the rock

The Arnsteinfelsen is a lookout point with a climbing facility and a destination for excursions on the Großer Waldstein in the municipality of Zell in the Fichtelgebirge . The granite rock formation is one of the geotopes of the Hof district .

The rock was handed down as a vantage point as early as the 17th century and was called "Narrenstein", "Ernstein" or "Arenstein". It offers a view over Zell, the Haidberg , Reinersreuth and Sparneck , in some distance you can see Münchberg and Helmbrechts . The rock spur with a wall-like structure shows wool sack weathering . The Arnsteinfelsen can be reached via hiking trails from the Waldsteinhaus or from the outskirts of Zell.
