Arrhenius is an impact crater on the southwestern edge of the far side of the Earth's moon . Due to its location, its surroundings can be observed with favorable librations . The Blanchard crater lies south-southeast of Arrhenius and the De Roy crater to the west.
The crater rim of Arrhenius is eroded by minor impacts and is therefore low and rounded. There is a notch in the north-north-western edge and a bulge on the south-eastern side. The inside of the crater is relatively flat and there is no central mountain .
