The Arroyo de las Higueritas is a small river in western Uruguay .
It rises in the northwestern part of the Colonia department, east of the city of Nueva Palmira, near the Ruta 21 that runs there . From there it flows in a north-westerly direction, crosses the city and finally flows into the Río Uruguay .
