exhibition

The ArsFIGURA shows porcelain dolls from 1830 to 1925 as well as some early paper mache, wax and whole- head porcelain Bierdermeier dolls from the mid-19th century. There are some celluloid dolls in the ArsFigura from the late 1930s and 1940s .

Modern artist dolls include porcelain dolls by Hildegard Günzel (D), as well as ethnological dolls by Bets van Boxel (NL) and valuable exhibits by Philip Heath .

In addition to the dolls, the surroundings are also in the foreground in the doll exhibition. With the help of the Belgian vending machine builder Sebastien Boucherit , who worked with movable mannequins, the mannequins in the ArsFigura can be moved by motors, pumps and hoses. The ArsFigura shows a replica of an inn, which appears very real thanks to its movable puppets and creates a scenery through the music of the pianist.
