The Ardenner Cultur Boulevard (until 2006 Ardenner Center ) lies between Hergersberg (Belgium) and Losheim (Germany), the German-Belgian border runs right through the site. It includes several exhibitions, shops, a gas station, a café and a hotel / inn.

history

In 1929, the married couple Nikolaus and Anna Balter (née Prömper), relatives of the Losheim station master Gustav Prömper, who had opened the Vennquerbahn , bought the inn "Zum Bahnhof". The former inn burned down completely in 1953, after which a new hotel with 18 rooms was built in 1954. In 1975 the Ardennes border market and the furniture gallery were set up for the sale of Belgian oak furniture, cigarettes and coffee. The price difference to Germany was very high, which attracted many customers. In 1986 the “OLD SMUGGLER” café opened, and in 1987 the term “Ardennes Center” was introduced.

The foundation stone was laid in 1988 and the ArsKRIPPANA crib exhibition opened in 1989 . After the last customs control at the Losheim border crossing took place in 1993, ArsTecnica was opened in 1997 as the largest digitally controlled model railway in Europe at the time in the former customs office.

In 2001 the Ardennes border market was expanded to AD DELHAIZE Losheim. In 2003 the exhibitions were handed over to Guido and Michael Balter . Guido Balter took over ArsTecnica, Michael Balter took over ArsKRIPPANA. In 2005, the “ArsTecnica” exhibition was expanded to include special exhibitions and the “OSTRA Collection”. Michael Balter later opened the ArsFigura (puppet exhibition).

In 2006 the facility was renamed "Ardenner Cultur Boulevard".
