The ArsTecnica (own spelling ArsTECNICA ) is a model railway exhibition and, together with ArsKRIPPANA (crib exhibition) and ArsFIGURA (doll exhibition), forms the Ardenner Cultur Boulevards , on the German-Belgian border in the German town of Losheim, which belongs to the municipality of Hellenthal .

When it opened on March 27, 1997 in the old customs office in Losheim, Euro-Tecnica was the largest and first fully digitally controlled model railroad in Europe. Even today it is one of the largest H0 model railroad layouts in Germany with a 2 km long, connected track network on which over 100 trains run, with a total exhibition area of ​​approx. 2000 m². In addition, Euro Tecnica is exhibiting the OSTRA collection and some dioramas in addition to various model railway layouts .

The Euro Tecnica H0 model railway system is fully digitally controlled and consists of several thematic sections that are connected to one another by a continuous rail network. The entire exhibition area of ​​the facility is approx. 250 m². A car system with 24 vehicles is also embedded .

The complex itself represents an Eifel landscape and also shows a fictional baroque palace with a floor area of ​​one square meter, a fully illuminated airport, as well as a fairground, zoo and harbor. In addition, the system is equipped with a day-night alternation of the lighting, in which the details are highlighted in the night phase through the use of black light and fluorescent colors in the wall painting. In 2008 an independent system with the new “USA” theme was completed (approx. 50 m²).

The collection of the Viennese-born Otto Straznicky from Erftstadt (nickname: Ostra ), which has been on display at the Euro Tecnica since 2007, shows old model railways as well as various nameplates of old locomotives.

Ostra, who used to perform around 800 times at exhibitions with his Ostra-Bahn , a live steam locomotive and wagons, carried more than a quarter of a million children. His model railway collection consists of rare Märklin and Bing locomotives from 1885 to the present day and includes not only H0 locomotives, but also pieces of track and models of tracks 0 and 1 and a factory plate collection that has existed since 1962. This includes around 500 exhibits, including a Belgian factory label from Ateliers Detombay .

The diorama exhibition includes around 50 models, which mainly deal with the contemporary history of the railways and the theme of the Second World War (including the Ardennes Offensive ); furthermore with topics such as the Ruhr area and mining in general, individual ships (the Titanic and the Batavia ) as well as fictions such as a UFO landing, the literary significance of Transylvania or a medieval battle. In many of the dioramas, which are always equipped with a day-night change, a functional H0 model railway is integrated.
