Arshin mal alan ( Azerbaijani آرشین مال آلان Arşın mal alan ) is an operetta in four acts written in 1913 by the Azerbaijani composer Üzeyir Hacıbəyov . It was written in Saint Petersburg in the summer of 1913 and staged in Baku on October 25, 1913 .

It reflects the social conditions of pre-revolutionary Azerbaijan. After husband and wife and if not that, then this is the composer's third and last work in this genre. The material was filmed four times.

The operetta is also known under the name of the peddler or merchant out of love .
