Arslan Mehmed-paša , later Arslan Mehmed paša-beg iz Bilaja (* 1745 , † 1812 ), was a Grand Governor of the Paschalik of Bosnia from April 29, 1789 to October 15, 1789 at the time of the last Austrian Turkish War , later he also became one Serasker of Bosnia.

ancestry

Arslan Mehmed-paša was the son of Mehmed-paša Kuli, born in Lika , whose father was Salih-aga Kuli, the first captain of the Stara Ostrovica. He became captain of Bihać in 1721 and was given the title of pasha for it.

After the war, the Kuli family moved from Lika to Bilaj (now a village near Bosanski Petrovac ). Arslan-beg later moved from Bilaj to Čaplje (a village near Sanski Most ) and was then called "Bilajački beg" (Bilajgischer Bey) from which the surname "Bilajbeg" or "Bilajbegović" later became.
