The Penck-Hotel (formerly " Art'otel", official spelling art'otel dresden ) is a hotel of the Berlin real estate group Gaedeke & Sons in Dresden . It is part of the building complex on the corner of Ostra-Allee 33 / Maxstraße 2–8, which consists of the hotel, an art gallery and offices. The building is a "jewel box" of modern art by well-known artists such as A. R. Penck and Denis Santachiara and the only one of its kind in Dresden.

The Penck Hotel was built in 1991 and 1996 as an Art'otel and Art'forum based on designs by Jan Rave, Roosje Rave and Rolf Rave. The client was the Gädeke & Landsberg group. The building was built on a "triangular block in the historical city plan" between Ostra-Allee , Max- and Könneritzstraße , consisting of a hotel, offices and art gallery. The basement is two-story. A four-story "perforated facade" clad with sandstone rises above it. A recessed stacked storey forms the upper end.

Noteworthy are the modern works of art that adorn the building complex. For example, on the acute-angled corner of the house there is a four-meter-tall bronze sculpture of a stick figure , which was created by A. R. Penck . There is an original Penck painting in each of the 174 rooms. Brightly colored design objects by the Milanese artist Denis Santachiara enrich the café, restaurant and lobby.

On July 31, 2018 it was announced that the Art'otel and Art'forum had been renamed "Penck-Hotel" in honor of AR Penck and will no longer be managed by the Park Plaza hotel chain, but by the owners Gaedeke & Sons becomes.
