Artawasd Peleschjan ( Armenian Արտավազդ Փելեշյան ; born February 22, 1938 in Leninakan ) is an Armenian filmmaker. Still unknown to a larger audience, it is valued by connoisseurs for its innovative assembly technology .

Peleschjan grew up in Kirovakan (today: Vanadzor ), first worked as a worker, then became a technician and from 1963 attended WGIK , the film school in Moscow . With Wremena goda (The Seasons) (1972) he also became known beyond the borders of the Soviet Union . He has also emerged as a theorist.

Peleschjan now lives in Moscow.
