Artem Yasynskyy

Artem Yasynskyy (* 1988 in Donetsk , Ukrainian SSR) is a classical pianist and university lecturer.

Career

Yasynskyy was born in 1988 into a family of professional musicians in Donetsk . At the age of seven he was a student of Albina Oryschuk at the special school for gifted children in Donetsk and gave his first public concert at the age of eight. A grant from the Ukrainian President from 2006 to 2010 enabled him to study at the Prokofiev State Music Academy, where he also received composition lessons from Aleksander Rudjansky. In 2010 he completed his bachelor's degree with distinction.

Artem Yasynskyy went to Germany in 2010 to begin postgraduate studies at the Bremen University of the Arts with Patrick O'Byrne . This was followed by a master’s degree, which he graduated with honors. His studies were supported by various grants, including the Keyboard Charitable Trust , the Vere Music Fund , the Fondation Clavarte , the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, and the Hans and Stefan Bernbeck Foundation . In March 2015 he completed his master’s degree and became a lecturer in piano as a major at the same university.

In addition to his concert appearances in Germany, he traveled to the Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and South Korea. He gave concerts at the Rarities of Piano Music festival in Husum, Germany; the Paderewsky Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina; the Honens Festival in Calgary, Canada; at the Bremen Music Festival in Germany; at the Bachauer Artist Series in Salt Lake City; the Festival of Young Pianists in Vienna, Austria; the Maggio Piano Festival in Vercelli, Italy and the Summer Night Music Festival in Kiev, Ukraine.

He has performed as a soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Utah Symphony Orchestra; the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra; the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra; the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2016 . His interpretations were broadcast by Radio Bremen, NWR 3, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and CBC / Radio-Canada , among others .

Discography

In May 2015 his first CD was released on the label Grand Piano (Naxos), with works by the Polish composer Józef Hofmann , which earned him enthusiastic press reviews, e. B. from Gramophone , the American Record Guide , Fanfare , the French magazine Diapason and Radio Bremen .
The second CD with 18 sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti was released in January 2018 by Naxos .
