The arteria meningea accessoryoria ("additional meningeal artery ", syn. Arteria pterygomeningea ) is an artery of the head. It usually arises from the first (retromandibular) section of the maxillary artery , occasionally also from the middle meningeal artery .

The artery supplies outside the cranial cavity, the lateral pterygoid muscle , medial pterygoid muscle and the musculus tensor palatini and the eustachian tube . It then runs together with the mandibular nerve through the foramen ovale to the middle fossa . There it supplies the trigeminal ganglion and the meninges .
