Arteria profunda femoris
The deep femoral artery ("deep femoral artery") is an artery of the lower extremity. It leaves the femoral artery below the inguinal ligament . It then runs deep between the extensor and adduction muscles of the thigh .
Branches of the deep femoral artery are:
- Aa. perforantes , which supply the muscles on the flexor side in particular.
- Arteria circumflexa femoris lateralis and medialis , which supply the femoral head and represent anastomoses to the arteria circumflexa ilium superficialis .
