Nikolaus Prinz (born July 25, 1962 in Waldhausen im Strudengau ) is an Austrian farmer , politician ( ÖVP ) and member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Nikolaus Prinz attended elementary school in St. Nikola an der Donau from 1968 to 1972 and then attended secondary school in Waldhausen. Between 1976 and 1977 he switched to the agricultural college in Katsdorf , between 1978 and 1980 he attended the agricultural and forestry vocational school, where he learned to be a farmer. In 1985, Prinz passed the master's examination.

Prinz worked in his parents' farm between 1977 and 1991, and has been an independent farmer since 1991.

politics

Nikolaus Prinz was Vice President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Agriculture between 1995 and 1999 and has been Deputy Chairman of the Upper Austrian Farmers' Union since 1995 . Prinz has also been local party chairman of the ÖVP St. Nikola an der Donau since 1989 and district party chairman of the ÖVP Perg since 1998. In 2002, Prinz was elected mayor of St. Nikola.

Prinz has represented the ÖVP in the National Council since October 29, 1999.

In 2020 he handed over his role as regional chairman of the Upper Austrian part-time farmers to Regina Aspalter after 25 years .
