Subscapular artery

The subscapular artery (Latin for 'sub- shoulder artery ') is an artery of the upper extremity . It arises from the distal section of the axillary artery and forms a short vascular trunk that divides in front of the medial axillary gap into the thoracodorsal artery and the circumflex artery of the scapula .

The third group of superficial axillary lymph nodes is located on the subscapular artery .
