Arthur Felix

Arthur Felix (born April 3, 1887 in Andrychów , † January 17, 1956 in England ) was a bacteriologist .

Arthur Felix worked and researched in Bielsko , Vienna , Prague and London , among others . Together with Edmund Weil , he developed the Weil-Felix reaction in 1915 to detect typhus and other rickettsioses in the urine . From 1921 to 1925 Felix worked in Jerusalem for the Hadassah Medical Organization . In 1925 he returned to London and worked for the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine .

The A. Felix Public Health Laboratories in Tel Aviv is named after him.
