Arthur Harari (* 1981 in Paris ) is a French actor , director and screenwriter .

Life

Harari comes from a family of architects and actors. His grandfather was the actor and film architect Clément Harari (1919–2008). As a teenager, Arthur Harari and his brother Tom Harari directed various short films that they made in Super 8 . Tom Harari later became a cinematographer and worked with Arthur Harari. The younger brother Lucas Harari was also involved as an actor in various Arthur Harari films.

Hahari studied directing at the University of Paris VIII and attended courses with Claire Simon in Saint-Denis, among others . He got to know director Justine Triet , who became his partner; both have a daughter.

Harari released his first medium- length film La main sur la gueule in 2007 , which was shown at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and received an award there (Special Mention from the Jury, ADAMI Award for Best Actor). At the Paris Cinema Festival, Harari received the audience award for the film. With his short film Peine perdue , Harari finally won the youth jury award in 2014 in Clermont-Ferrand.

Justine Triet cast Harari in her films The President and My Children (2013) and Victoria - Men & Other Mishaps as an actor. Harari finally made his debut feature film directing with Diamant Noir in 2016; Tom Harari was at the camera. The Syndicat Français de la Critique de Cinéma et des Films de Télévision awarded the film the prize for the best first work in 2017. Harari was nominated for the revenge thriller for the César ( best first work ), the Prix ​​Lumières (Heike Hurst Award for the best first work) and the Prix ​​Louis Delluc (best first work).
