Arthur Kobus

Arthur Kobus (born February 9, 1879 in Metz , † April 1945 in Berlin ) was a German officer , most recently lieutenant general in World War II .

Life

He served as a company and battalion leader in World War I and was awarded both classes of the Iron Cross . After the war ended in the Reichswehr , Kobus became head of department in the Army Weapons Office in 1928 . End of April 1931 with the character as a major-general adopted, it was reactivated in 1933 and was first again in the Army Ordnance Department, and later in the army high command worked. Kobus was promoted to lieutenant general on July 1, 1942 and retired shortly thereafter. In April 1945 Kobus committed suicide when the Red Army marched into Berlin.
