Arthur Margelidon

Arthur Margelidon (born October 12, 1993 in Paris ) is a Canadian judoka .

Athletic career

In 2010 Margelidon won a silver medal at the Pan American U20 championships. In 2013 he was the first Canadian master in the adult class. In the same year he finished fifth at the Junior World Championships. In 2015 he won a bronze medal at the Pan American Championships. At the Pan American Games in the same year he also won a bronze medal. In 2016 he won the Pan-American Championships in Havana. He missed the 2016 Olympics because of a broken wrist.

At the end of 2017 he reached the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Tokyo , but was defeated by the Japanese Arata Tatsukawa . In 2018 he reached the final at the Masters tournament in Guangzhou, where he lost to Rustam Orujov from Azerbaijan. At the Pan-American Championships in 2019, he won silver behind the Cuban Magdiel Estrada . At the Grand Slam tournament in Abu Dhabi in 2019, he finished second behind the Turkish Bilal Çiloğlu .
